iAgri mapping provides a fully function geo-spatial management tool for your farm. With iAgri maps, you can map the paddocks, tracks, sheds, fixed implements and other significant features of your farm. iAgri mapping enables you to manage livestock and crops using an intuitive mapping interface based on the highly performant, privacy preserving Azure Maps service.
Mapping your farm
The first step in mapping you farm is to define paddocks. Use the Mapping/Home menu to open the maps home page.
- From the tool bar, use the location search [type-ahead] to search for your address. Select the matching address and the system will zoom the map to the selected location. Used the pan and zoom tools of the map to bring your farm into view. You can also click and drag the mapping surface to change the viewing area.
- From the tool bar, select the New button and choose the “Paddock” option. The system will enter the pack draw mode.
- Draw the boundary of a paddock on the map.
- From the tool bar, click on the button. The system will prompt you for a paddock name.
- Enter the paddock name and click the button in the dialog to save the new paddock.
Repeat this process for all the paddocks on your farm.
Configuring Breaks
At different times of the year, your farming system may require you to break larger paddocks into smaller “breaks” for feed management or other purposes. iAgri supports this with the concept of Paddock Sets.
A Paddock Set effectively replaces ones or more Paddock entities with different paddocks entities for a time period. The time period may be specified as a date range or as a Season.
To create a Paddock Set, use the Paddock Set drop down on the Maps title bar, and select the <new> item. The system will display a dialog to prompt you for a Name, a Period and one or more Paddocks that will be broken for the Paddock Set. Enter the details and click the Save button. The system will save the Paddock Set and display it in the Paddocks editor.
The Paddock Set will display blank spaces where the break paddocks are. Use the button to drop down the “New” menu and select the Break option to start adding a break.
Draw the new break on the map using the mouse pointer. Enter a name and colour for the break in the properties panel and click the button to save the break.
